How to Add a Pinterest Account to Mainflow

There are two methods for adding a Pinterest account to Mainflow:

  • Option 1: Use the Cookie method to add your account to the system.
  • Option 2: Create your personal App and add your accounts using the App.

Option 1: Use the Cookie Method to Add Your Account

Follow these steps to add an account using the cookie method:

  • Open the browser in Incognito mode:
    • Press “Ctrl” + “Shift” + “n” to open Incognito in Chrome.
    • Press “Ctrl” + “Shift” + “p” to open Incognito in Firefox.

– Log in to your Pinterest account;

– Open the Inspect element panel by clicking the F12 key or right-click on the page and click the Inspect button;

– Go to the Application tab within the Inspect element panel and click the Cookies menu.

– Copy the “_pinterest_sess” cookie value and close the incognito tab without logging out of your account. If you log out, you will need to get new cookie values again;

– Go to Mainflow > Channels > Pinterest menu and click the “Add channel” button.

– Next, click the More options button;

– Select the Cookie method from the methods list and paste the cookies you copied earlier. Click the Continue button to add the account to the plugin;

– You also have the option to add the account using a Proxy.

– Click the channels to add them to the plugin or click the >> button to add all of them at once;

– Your Pinterest account must have boards, and your posts must contain a featured image in order to share them to Pinterest, as you cannot pin without an image.

–  Activate your channels to share posts automatically whenever new posts are published. If you don’t activate channels, you will need to manually add them to Mainflow when you want to share specific posts.

– You can also activate channels conditionally by selecting specific taxonomies to share specific posts or not share specific posts on particular channels. This will apply to only auto-posts;

– The Customize content option allows you to assign specific content for this specific channel which will override the content you specifically in the social network settings;

– You can enable proxy or edit proxy credentials without reauthorizing the channel.

– Once channels are activated, they will appear in the Mainflow section when publishing. The system will automatically share posts on these channels.

– In the Permissions tab, you can allow other users to manage channels in their Mainflow dashboard. You can grant permission to share posts only or provide full access to manage the channel and its settings.

– Use the Labels tab to group channels, making it easier to add a group of channels to the Planners or Schedules rather than adding them individually.

– Now, you can easily filter channels by label and click the >> button to add them all at once for sharing;

Option 2: Create your App and add your account using the custom App method.

Please follow the steps below to create a Pinterest App and add your accounts using the App method:

– You need to activate the Pinterest App Standard access to share posts on your boards, Trial access is not enough;

– Go to the Pinterest Developers page;

– Create or log in to a Business Pinterest Account;

– Or link your existing personal account to create a Business account;

– You should get an email to verify your account. If you do not get an email, go to the Pinterest Developers page to resend it;

– Agree to the Terms;

– Now, you can create an App;

– Fill in all the required fields and Submit the App.

– You can copy your redirect URL from the Apps tab of the Plugin;

– And add the Redirect URL to the App settings after the App is approved;

– When your App is approved, copy your new App ID and secret key;

– Give a name for the app to recognize it and add the App credentials to the plugin;

–  Go to Mainflow > Channels > Pinterest menu and click the “Add channel” button.

– Next, click the More options button;

– Select your App from the list and click the Continue button.

– You also have the option to add the account with a Proxy.

– Click the channels to add them to the plugin or click the >> button to add all of them at once; – Your Pinterest account must have boards, and your posts must contain a featured image to share to Pinterest boards.

– Activate your Pinterest boards and start to share your posts as pins on those boards.
